   What we do

What we do

Founded in 1540 by ten men, the Jesuits built, within little more than a generation, the most influential company of its kind. Infused with restless energy they set out to "set the world on fire".

With no experience in running schools, they managed to have more than thirty colleges up and running within a decade. Soon Jesuits were educating nearly 20 % of all Europeans.

"To do what God wants,
and to want what God does."
- Jose Maria Rubio (known as the Apostle of Madrid)
Spanish Jesuit canonized by Pope John Paul II - 4 May 2003
