SAPLING 1: UNIVERSAL EDUCATION PROGRAMME

Operating in Thane, Raigad, Nashik, Dhule and Nandurbar districts of Maharashtra.

150 literacy (learning) centres.

4000 Adivasi children catered to - youth employed and trained to teach.

Total annual requirement - Rs 15,00,000 (Rs 1.5 million).

SAPLING 2: GNANMATA ENGLISH-MEDIUM HIGH SCHOOL (Uplat, Talasari)

1000 children (mainly Warlis) to benefit.

Presently in make-shift premises.

Total help required - Rs 2,12,84,520 (Rs 21.28 million).

SAPLING 3: SHANTIVAN SHETKARI SEVA MANDAL

A residential Ashram school for 630 Adivasi children in remote Nagzari, Dongripada (Ashagad).

At present classrooms during the day are used as dormitories at night.

Need to build separate classrooms as a human need and a government requirement.

Total cost - Rs 1,62,00,000 (Rs 16.20 million).

SAPLING 4: PRABODHAN VIDYALAYA, AMBATHA (Nashik District)

Marathi-medium high school for 350 Adivasi children.

New building and an adjoining toilet block needed.

Total outlay - Rs 93,00,000 (Rs 9.3 million).

SAPLING 5: ST. XAVIER'S PRIMARY SCHOOL (Manickpur, Vasai)

Opportunity for English-medium education for 480 students.

Building urgently required by December 2009.

Total cost - Rs 97,00,000 (Rs 9.7 million).
