XIC 40 saal baad...Celebrating 40 years of XIC

 We are proud to announce that the Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC), has completed 40 fruitful years since its first batch of media students began their professional careers in 1970.

 Fr. Lawrie Ferrao SJ, Director of XIC invited all former and present faculty, staff and alumni to the 40th Anniversary get-together and dinner, which was celebrated on the 27 of Nov. ‘2009, at the XIC Gardens .

The program began with the lighting of the inauguration lamp, followed by live music, games and prizes galore, and ended with a grand buffet dinner.  The event provided a rare opportunity for those associated with XIC to reminisce about old times and also find out if it they were instep with what was happening in the Institute.  Faculty, staff and alumni rejuvenated their friendships, and were able to share their joys and experiences with each other.  

Special guest of the evening was Fr. Arun D’Souza SJ, Rector, St. Xavier’s College and former directors – Frs. Anthony D’Souza SJ., Joseph Veninkar SJ., and Myron J. Pereira SJ.  Among those present were also distinguished alumni from the class of 1972.  Fr. Lawrie Ferrao especially thanked Antoinette D’Costa, alumnus of TV 1973, for her generous contribution of Rs.10,000/-.
