MONTH OF CELEBRATION

Advent brought many joys as well as a series of successive celebrations. It began with the visit of our new PCF, Fr. Keith D’Souza, of the BJP (Bombay Jesuit Province) to B.T.C. on 2nd December. This was followed by the feast of St. Francis Xavier, together with a birthday of Sch. Watan Tirkey, sj. We then had our 2nd Semester Examination, which in turn was followed by the Christmas Opera ‘GOD PITCHES HIS TENT’ held on 17th of December.  The Opera was directed by Fr.Benny Gracias of the Goa Province. We took an active part in the Opera and we put in our best. There was a Shakespearean play ‘Macbeth’. It was edited and directed by Fr. Theo de sales sj. We enjoyed it with the true spirit. We then set out for various destinations for the mission visits. We had unique Christmas celebration in those new places. We came back to BTC on the eve of New Year. Then we celebrated New Year, 2010. This New Year, too, brought lots of joys and surprises. Firstly, we got a new beadle, Sch. Jeswill Lopes, a man to be admired for many things. We then had a triduum, given by the great Pune Jesuit Fr. M. Altrichter, in preparation for the renovation of the vows. He transformed us into our true self by the grace of God .We then were ready for the 3rd semester. The classes began as usual with new enthusiasm. The visit of the Provincial, Fr.Tony J D’souza, encouraged us to go ahead in our daily life with a new zeal and the spirit of Magis. There was a singing competition of patriotic songs in which all of us participated and three were chosen for republic day. Sch. Watan Tirkey was one of those three chosen ones. We have also begun preparing for the Academy day. The Juniorate schedule is currently quite hectic. At present we are looking forward to the Republic Day function and the Bal Mela on the same day.
