HOLY FAMILY HIGH SCHOOL SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATION

A day of joy, a day of pride, a day of celebration – Saturday November 21st 2009 was the day when Holy Family celebrated the Silver Jubilee of its Marathi Medium Section.

The combined celebration of the Primary and Secondary, Prize Distribution and Annual Day was a grand extravaganza held on the lower grounds of Holy Family complete with fireworks and all.  The ground was packed to capacity and the celebration was in the air.

The beautiful backdrop bore the words, “Jai Jayawanti, Rajat Jayanti’ along with the silver jubilee logo designed by the Art Master Mr. Sanjay Jadhav.

After the Prize Distribution was a cultural programme celebrating the Silver Jubilee, which included a skit, dances, live singing and video projection.

The skit “A Galaxy of Stars” written by Mr. Conan Pereira brought out a beautiful analogy between astronomical concepts, in keeping with the International Year of Astronomy, and different aspects of Holy Family, especially bringing out the history and progress of the Marathi Medium.  Dances were smartly woven into the script to highlight certain parts. There was also a continuous projection of video clips specially prepared by ex-teacher Mr. Christopher Fernandes. 

A special feature of the show was the dance to the song ‘Badal Pe Pas’ featuring teachers of both English and Marathi Medium, on stage along with the Principal Fr.(Dr.)Francis Swamy, Vice-Principal, Sr. Iona, Headmistress, Sr. Jacinta and Supervisor, Mrs. Susan Babu in the ‘Holy Family Boat’ a specially constructed life size boat.

The catchy Jubilee song composed with the help of Geet Studio in Marathi and English played and sung every now and then during the programme, clearly furnished the spirit of celebration. 

The finale saw all the teachers on stage, the Provincial cutting a cake and the Principal releasing balloons, with the sky filled with fireworks and the jubilee-song playing in the background, creating the perfect tone for the falling of the curtain on the silver-jubilee celebrations.
