Some news from the Vocation Promotion
office on the various ventures undertaken and the ventures to
be undertaken.
We at the Vocation office conducted a mission camp for the
student of the 11th and 12th Std. who had either finished
their exams this month or were to give their exams in the next
month. This camp was held at Ambhata. The feed back we got
from the boys was that they were disappointed by the fact that
the camp could not be extended by another day. We thank the
Shrine, Catholic Ashram, Sahanalaya and especially Ambhata
community for being generous in treating us well with food and
accommodation and for making us feel at home.
Our next venture was the 10th Std “Know the Jesuits” Camp
at Kune from the 31st of March to the 2nd of April. 25 English
and 18 Marathi speaking boys attended the camp . Fr. Joe
Albuquerque S.J and Sch. Assis Rodrigues S.J were coordinators
for the English and Marathi camps respectively.
There would be one more “summer mission” camp if not two,
for the 11th and 12th Std students in the coming two months.
Please let us know of any boys willing to come for these
camps.
The Vocation commission meets the scholastics on the 1st of
May at Vinayalaya, to see how we can work together to promote
more and good vocations for the Society of Jesus in the Bombay
Province.
A discernment retreat for those interested to join the
Jesuits is held tentatively around the 20th of June. This
retreat will be given by Fr. Vernon D’cunha S.J at Vinayalaya.
All those who think they know a couple of boys worth sending
for the retreat, please direct them to the Vocation Promotion
Office.
