SARVA DHARMA VISHWA SHANTI

Holy Family High School has once again hosted a beautiful and inspiring Inter-Faith prayer service.

This unique religio-socio cultural evening was held on Saturday, 13th August, 2005. The Holy Family School hall had a beautiful and thought provoking peaceful ambience.

A poster competition was held on Friday 12th August, 2005. The topic was, `Religions must create PEACE-How?”

More than 100 students from various schools from Andheri (East) and Andheri (West) participated and brought out the message of Peace in the world with their innocent and creative hands.

The beautiful posters were displayed and tastefully decorated with symbols of various faiths.

The Centre stage represented a colourful map of the world with colourful flower petals and flickering lights.

Mrs. Asha Kapoor welcomed the gathering in Hindi. She invited the representatives of all the religions and schools to light the ceremonial lamp.

Dr. Fr. Francis Swamy S.J., the Principal of Holy Family High School gave the key note address in English and Marathi emphasizing the theme, `Sarva Dharma Vishwa Shanti.’

The representatives of various religions [Buddhism – Mr. Virendra Raja, Parsi – Mrs. Farida Patel, Hindu – Mr. Pawan Kumar, Sikh – Mrs. Kaul, Muslim – Prof. Jamil Kamil, Christian – Fr. Harry & Jain – Dr. Vora] gave their message of peace. They were led by the students of the school who dressed up in colourful costumes of their respective communities.

An excellent Power-Point presentation and Bhajans by the Satya Sai Group added a spirit of serenity to the peaceful prayer service.

Mrs. Snehal Dande and Mrs. Hazel Palli compered the programme in Marathi and Hindi respectively. A candle light pledge to promote National Integration, Global Peace and Unity brought the prayer service to an ever lasting solemn conclusion.

Fr. Jude Fernandes, the Vice-Principal proposed the vote of thanks in Hindi.

This meaningful pathway to peace inspired all the participants with a feeling of peaceful co-existence.
